A few pages from the Taylor and Francis journal, going back a decade or so, show the start of a preoccupation with tight typesetting, artificial show-through, fake collage, palimpsest and other paper marks.

This and the following six pages are from ‘Indexes’, Vol. 11, No. 2. ISBN: 978-0-415-40596

This and the following four pages were made for ‘Wind, Even When We Do Not Move’ by David Williams published in ‘On Animals’, Vol. 5, No. 2 ISBN: 978-0-415-40596. The text runs through the race card and continues through the torn collage. The next sequence shows an article about the Upas tree made in the form of non-consecutive ‘extracts’ from a notional book, illustrated with details from paintings by Francis Danby.
